One of the key highlights of the visit was the inauguration of the Samrat Samprati Museum at Koba Tirth in Gandhinagar. Named after the legendary Mauryan ruler Samrat Samprati, the grandson of Emperor Ashoka, the museum celebrates the rich historical, cultural, and spiritual legacy of Jainism. Located within the Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra campus, the museum aims to serve as a center for learning and preservation of Jain heritage, attracting visitors, scholars, and devotees from across the country and beyond.
In a major boost to road infrastructure, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway, an access-controlled highway developed at a cost of over ₹5,100 crore. The expressway is expected to significantly improve connectivity between Ahmedabad and the upcoming Dholera Special Investment Region, reducing travel time and facilitating economic growth in the region. Additionally, foundation stones were laid for the 4-lane Idar-Badoli bypass and the upgradation of the Dholavira-Mauvana-Vauva-Santalpur section under NH-754K, which will further strengthen Gujarat’s road network.
Urban mobility in and around Gandhinagar also received a boost with the inauguration of key flyover projects. The flyover at Bhaijipura Junction on the Gandhinagar-Koba-Airport Road is expected to reduce congestion and offer organized parking facilities underneath. Similarly, the flyover at PDPU Junction on the Gandhinagar-Koba-Arodram Road was inaugurated, aimed at ensuring smoother and uninterrupted traffic flow. This stretch handles heavy daily traffic, and the new infrastructure is expected to benefit thousands of commuters traveling between Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and the airport.
The Prime Minister also emphasized India’s commitment to renewable energy by inaugurating the Khavda Pooling Station-2 and its associated transmission systems. Developed at an investment of around ₹3,650 crore, the project will help evacuate approximately 4.5 GW of renewable energy. This initiative is a crucial step toward enhancing India’s green energy capacity and strengthening the transmission network required for large-scale renewable integration.
Rail infrastructure in Gujarat also witnessed major advancements. PM Modi dedicated the Kanalus-Jamnagar doubling project, which is part of the larger Rajkot-Kanalus doubling initiative. He also inaugurated the quadrupling of the Gandhidham-Adipur section, aimed at improving freight and passenger movement. Another significant development was the Himmatnagar-Khedbrahma gauge conversion project, which is expected to improve connectivity in the region. The Prime Minister also flagged off a new train service connecting Khedbrahma, Himmatnagar, and Asarwa, enhancing regional accessibility.
Water infrastructure projects formed another critical part of the development package. Two major pipeline projects—the Kasara-Dantiwada pipeline in Banaskantha and the Dindrol-Mukteshwar pipeline spanning Patan and Banaskantha—were dedicated to the nation. These projects, worth around ₹1,780 crore, aim to improve water supply and ensure better availability of drinking water in several regions. In addition, the foundation stone for a new water supply scheme for Ambaji and nearby rural areas was laid, further strengthening water security.
The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stones for three expansion projects of the Sabarmati Riverfront in the Gandhinagar district, with a combined investment of around ₹1,000 crore. These projects are expected to enhance urban aesthetics, promote tourism, and provide better public spaces for residents.
Additionally, a government boys’ hostel in Vejalpur, Ahmedabad, was inaugurated, reflecting the government’s focus on improving educational infrastructure and student facilities.
Overall, the wide range of projects launched during the visit highlights a comprehensive approach to development—covering transportation, energy, water supply, urban infrastructure, and cultural preservation. These initiatives are expected to accelerate economic growth, improve quality of life, and reinforce Gujarat’s position as a key driver of India’s development journey.
