Delhi, India | August 18, 2025 — JSW Steel and South Korea’s POSCO Group have announced plans to set up a major steel plant in India, aiming to produce six million tonnes annually.
The agreement for this joint venture was signed recently, building on an earlier understanding from October 2024. The collaboration is expected to strengthen India’s position in the global steel market and create a world-class manufacturing hub catering to both domestic and international demand.
Officials from both companies highlighted that the project will leverage advanced technology and sustainable practices to ensure high-quality steel production while supporting India’s industrial growth ambitions. Analysts say the venture could also generate significant employment opportunities and contribute to infrastructure development in the region.
