Ranveer Singh starrer spy thriller releases its first track, a modern remake of the iconic Bombay Rockers hit.

The makers of the upcoming action thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge have released the first song from the film, titled Aari Aari, giving fans a glimpse of the movie’s energetic soundtrack. The track is a reimagined version of the early-2000s hit originally created by Bombay Rockers, and it blends classic Punjabi beats with modern hip-hop elements.

The new version of “Aari Aari” has been recreated under the creative supervision of director Aditya Dhar, while the music has been composed, arranged, and programmed by Shashwat Sachdev. The track brings together a mix of traditional and contemporary sounds, aiming to appeal to both fans of the original song and a new generation of listeners.

Vocals for the reimagined track feature Navtej Singh Rehal, also known as Naf from Bombay Rockers, along with singers Khan Saab, Jasmine Sandlas, and Sudhir Yaduvanshi. The rap segments add a contemporary twist and are written and performed by Reble and Token.

The lyrics for the new version are penned by renowned lyricist Irshad Kamil, who collaborated with Bombay Rockers to maintain the spirit of the original track while giving it a fresh lyrical identity. Additional music scoring for the track has been handled by Adam Lucas, enhancing the song’s dynamic soundscape.

The music video also gives viewers an intense glimpse of the film’s narrative and showcases Ranveer Singh in a fierce avatar as the character Hamza Ali Mazari. Known for his high-energy performances, Ranveer appears determined and aggressive in the visuals, hinting at the action-packed storyline of the film. The video features several clips from the movie’s trailer, which was released earlier and generated considerable excitement among fans.

The original “Aari Aari” track was first released in 2003 as part of Bombay Rockers’ debut album Introducing. At the time, the duo—comprising singer Navtej Singh Rehal and producer Thomas Sardorf—experimented with a unique sound by blending Punjabi folk and Bhangra with Western hip-hop, R&B, and club beats. This fusion style helped them gain popularity not only among South Asian listeners but also among international audiences.

Over the years, Bombay Rockers became widely known for their chart-topping hits such as Rock Tha Party and Sexy Mama, which enjoyed success in both Denmark and India. Their music played a significant role in popularising Indo-Western fusion pop during the early 2000s.

The film Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, is directed by Aditya Dhar and is scheduled to release in theatres on March 19, with paid previews planned for March 18. The project has already generated considerable buzz due to its intriguing storyline and star-studded cast.

Apart from Ranveer Singh, the film features an ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and R. Madhavan in key roles.

Set against the backdrop of Lyari in Pakistan, the film follows the story of an Indian spy, Hamza Ali Mazari, who infiltrates a local network of criminals and arms dealers. The narrative promises intense action sequences, espionage drama, and a gripping storyline.

Produced by Aditya Dhar along with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, the film aims to combine high-octane storytelling with a powerful musical lineup.

With the release of “Aari Aari,” the makers have successfully sparked excitement around the film’s soundtrack while paying tribute to a classic track that once dominated the pop charts. Fans are now eagerly waiting to see how the film and its music resonate when it finally hits theatres..
