Chennai Youth Assembly IV – Phase II Brings 130 Student Delegates to IITM Research Park to Discuss UN SDGs

The Chennai Youth Assembly IV – Phase II, organized by Street Cause Chennai, was held on 8 March 2026 at IITM Research Park, bringing together around 130 student delegates from colleges across Chennai to deliberate on pressing societal challenges aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The assembly was led by Chairperson P. Venkata Sai Sriram and Chairperson Execution Sai Ganesh, who emphasized the role of youth in driving meaningful social change.

The event featured four thematic sessions focusing on Gender Equality (SDG 5), Climate Action (SDG 13), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), and Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6). The Gender Equality session featured Chief Guest Rasika Sundaram, Founder of Imaara Foundation, while the Clean Water and Sanitation session featured Chief Guest Hari Balaji, CEO of Ferrgra and PhD Scholar at Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences.

With support from Title Research Sponsor Konnifel and Beverage Sponsor Red Bull, delegates actively debated solutions and over 80 motions were proposed and passed. The assembly concluded with the recognition of the organizing committee and the election of project leadership responsible for implementing the ideas discussed.
