Bihar Polls LIVE: Rajnath Slams RJD’s Unrealistic Promise

Must read

Patna, October 29 (ANI/PTI): Political temperatures are soaring in Bihar ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, with top national leaders from both the NDA and INDIA bloc hitting the campaign trail. From fiery speeches to sharp accusations, Wednesday witnessed a full display of electoral energy across the state.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and several BJP Chief Ministers addressed public gatherings in support of NDA candidates, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi joined RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav and other INDIA bloc leaders at rallies in Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga.

Rajnath Singh Hits Out at RJD’s Poll Manifesto

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh took a direct swipe at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), calling its promise of providing a government job to every household “completely unrealistic.”

“The RJD’s promise of giving a job to each household is not practical. This is an attempt to mislead the youth of Bihar. Governance cannot run on hollow promises but on solid development work,” Singh said during a rally in Begusarai.

He further stated that the NDA government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, has worked tirelessly for the upliftment of Bihar and the empowerment of youth through infrastructure, investment, and employment initiatives.

Amit Shah’s Back-to-Back Rallies in North Bihar

Union Home Minister Amit Shah continued his aggressive campaign, addressing a series of rallies in Darbhanga, Samastipur, and Begusarai. Shah appealed to voters to ensure the return of the NDA to power for a “stable, secure, and developed Bihar.”

“When RJD was in power, Bihar suffered from corruption, crime, and chaos. Under the NDA, we have restored law and order and laid the foundation for growth. Do not let Bihar slip back into the dark days of jungle raj,” Shah said, drawing applause from the crowd.

Shah also highlighted the NDA’s development work in Bihar, including improvements in road infrastructure, electricity supply, and welfare schemes, promising to “make Bihar one of the fastest-growing states in India.”

Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav Target BJP and NDA

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav led the INDIA bloc’s charge from Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga, launching attacks on the Modi government and accusing it of neglecting the poor, farmers, and unemployed youth.

Rahul Gandhi said that the INDIA bloc’s focus is on social justice and employment, while the BJP is only serving “corporate interests.”

“The NDA government has failed the youth of India. Inflation, unemployment, and inequality have grown. The INDIA bloc will bring change and restore fairness,” he said.

Tejashwi Yadav reiterated his party’s manifesto promises, saying that the RJD was committed to making Bihar “a state of opportunities for youth” and improving public welfare.

Other Leaders Join Campaign Blitz

Apart from the central leaders, Chief Ministers of several BJP-ruled states including Uttar Pradesh’s Yogi Adityanath, Madhya Pradesh’s Mohan Yadav, and Delhi CM Rekha Gupta also addressed election meetings across districts like Saran, Siwan, Patna, Bhojpur, and Buxar.

Former Jharkhand CM Babulal Marandi and Union Minister Nityanand Rai also campaigned for NDA candidates.

Rai launched a sharp attack on Tejashwi Yadav, calling him “corrupt” and questioning his credibility to speak about clean governance.

“The person who has been accused in corruption cases is talking about freeing Bihar from corruption — how is that possible?” Rai remarked.

Rising Poll Temperatures in Bihar

As the campaign intensifies, both alliances — NDA and INDIA bloc — are pulling out all stops to sway voters. While the NDA banks on its development record and leadership under Modi and Nitish Kumar, the INDIA bloc is betting on youth-focused promises and anti-incumbency sentiments.

With high-profile rallies across the state and fiery exchanges between leaders, Bihar’s political landscape is witnessing one of its most competitive elections in recent years.
