Andhra Pradesh Bus Accident

A devastating bus accident in the Alluri district of Andhra Pradesh resulted in nine deaths and numerous injuries on this morning. The bus, that had two drivers and a cleaner plus 35 passengers, was going to the Sri Rama temple in Bhadrachalam, Telangana, from Chittoor. Officials say the passenger vehicle lost control while going through a forest ghat’s sharp curve and fell down a steep ravine possibly due to heavy fog which decreased visibility severely. Help was immediately sent in, and seven of the injured passengers were taken to CHC Chintur, which is located 15 kilometers from where the accident happened. After they are stabilized, they will be moved to Bhadrachalam for additional treatment. The authorities have announced that all the departments are working together to give the best possible medical care to the victims. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow over the accident and declared a compensation of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF for the families of those who died and Rs 50,000 for the injured. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu attended the site virtually, talked to the officials, and directed the senior officers to manage the rescue and relief operations. As the accident has become a topic of discussion throughout the country, it has also highlighted the perils of driving during foggy conditions on hilly roads. Local authorities are still monitoring the situation and are making sure that all necessary help is given to the victims and their families.
