Must read

Google Pixel 10a:Google has finally launched the Google Pixel 10a in India, adding to its successful A-series series. The Google Pixel 10a is priced at Rs 49,999 and is aimed at consumers who are interested in the Pixel experience but do not want to spend the premium amount. The phone is now up for pre-orders and will be available in the market from March 6.

The most exciting feature of the Google Pixel 10a is its 6.3-inch Actua display, which has a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. According to Google, this is the brightest display on any Pixel A-series phone ever. For comparison, the previous Google Pixel 9a had a maximum brightness of 2,700 nits. The increased brightness of the display will result in better outdoor performance and will also provide a better viewing experience while streaming or gaming.

Battery life is still strong with a 5,100mAh battery, which is capable of powering the device for up to 30 hours of use. Although the battery capacity has not changed much compared to the previous model, the charging speed has been optimized. The Pixel 10a can now be charged at a rate of 30W using a wired connection, compared to 23W on the Pixel 9a. Wireless charging is also supported at a rate of 10W.

Design-wise, Google has optimized the design of the A-series lineup. The camera housing is now seamlessly integrated into the rear cover, giving the device a “bumpless” design, according to Google. The device has thinner and uniform 4mm bezels and a matte texture, giving it a high-end look. It will be available in Lavender, Obsidian, Fog, and Berry colour variants.

Another important area of focus is durability. The Pixel 10a comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the front, which provides better protection against scratches and minor drops. It also features IP68 protection, which provides dust and water resistance. This makes it more durable for use in various environmental conditions.

The Pixel 10a comes with the latest Android 16 operating system out of the box, along with the Google Material 3 Expressive design language. This means that users can expect new and improved visuals, new wallpapers, and an entirely new notification shade. Google is also promising seven years of operating system updates, security updates, and Pixel Drop updates, which is a huge boost to the overall value.

The Pixel 10a is powered by Google’s custom Tensor G4 processor, which comes with 8GB of RAM. Although the same processor was seen in the Pixel 9a, it is now further optimized for AI-related tasks. This includes better image processing, better voice assistance, and better overall AI performance.

In terms of cameras, the Pixel 10a comes with a 48MP primary camera and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera at the back. For the front, it comes with a 13MP camera. Google is also emphasizing its AI-driven camera capabilities, introducing many Pixel 10 series features to the A-series lineup.

The integration of AI is one of the biggest takeaways. The smartphone comes with Gemini, Google’s intelligent AI assistant, which provides conversational support, live engagement, and app-related assistance. The Camera Coach and other AI-driven image editing features are also expected to improve the camera experience.

Another area where Google says it has made progress is in sustainability. The Pixel 10a comes with a 100% recycled aluminum body and an 81% recycled plastic rear panel. It also uses recycled cobalt, copper, gold, and tungsten materials, and the retail packaging is plastic-free.

The initial offers that customers can enjoy at the time of purchase include cashback of Rs 3,000 on HDFC Bank credit cards, no-cost EMI for up to 24 months, and exchange bonus of Rs 3,000. The phone is also a part of the Pixel Upgrade Program.
