Nitish Rajput SSC Controversy: In a surprising turn of event with regard to the case of the YouTuber Nitish Rajput, along with Eduquity Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a defamation case of ₹2.5 crores has been raised before a Delhi court. The whole issue, which started off as a simple debate carried on by Nitish Rajput with regard to Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exams, has escalated to a National level debate.
In his video, Rajput had posed questions over transparency in processes, changes in eligibility criteria, and the selection of vendors for SSC examinations. He had not mentioned any names, but his facts were derived from official records and information from RTI. However, he pointed out that repeated interruptions during the examination suggest a structural problem.
Eduquity Technologies further denied the allegations, stating the video damaged its professional reputation and business interests. The company sought both monetary compensation and takedown of the video, to which Rajput refused and termed his content as fair public-interest commentary.
Nitish Rajput, because of his simplification of complex policy and governance issues for SSC and UPSC aspirants, apart from other government job aspirants, is widely followed. The present litigation has increased his national visibility while raising concerns over the legal risks faced by digital educators who question public systems using official data.
Student groups and aspirant communities are following the case closely, some even examining routes for the judicial review of wider SSC reforms. The legal professionals said it could set a precedent on how the laws of defamation apply to digital commentary.
Beyond just one lawsuit, the issue brings into focus fast-growing demands for fairness, transparency, and trust in the ecosystem of competitive exams in India.
