PM Modi Inaugurates Skyroot Infinity Campus, Unveils
Through video conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened Skyroot Aerospace’s new Infinity Campus on Thursday. He also unveiled Vikram-I, the company’s first orbital rocket that can launch satellites into orbit, during the event.
The new Infinity Campus is a sizable, contemporary building that occupies nearly 200,000 square feet. Several launch vehicles can be designed, developed, integrated, and tested with it. According to the company, the campus can produce one orbital rocket per month, which would be a significant advancement for India’s private space industry.
In addition to praising India’s rapidly expanding space ecosystem, PM Modi stated that private businesses are starting to play a significant role. India’s “new thinking, innovation, and youth power” is reflected in Skyroot’s new campus, he continued.
Additionally, the Prime Minister revealed that over 300 space startups are currently attempting to influence India’s space technology future. Many of them had small teams and tight budgets when they first started, but their enthusiasm and tenacity allowed them to expand quickly.
Founded by former ISRO scientists and IIT graduates Pawan Chandana and Bharath Daka, Skyroot Aerospace has grown rapidly to become one of India’s top private space firms.
