Dharmendra’s demise At the age of 89, renowned Bollywood actor Dharmendra passed away. The veteran star passed away on Monday afternoon at his Mumbai home, shocking and grieving millions of fans worldwide as well as the Indian film industry.
The Vile Parle crematorium in Mumbai is conducting his final rites. As many members of the industry and well-wishers come to pay their final respects, security has been increased both inside and outside the crematorium. Major Bollywood stars like Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and a number of other celebrities who either grew up watching the actor’s classic films or had a close relationship with him are among those in attendance.
Dharmendra’s passing was lamented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who described it as the end of an era. The Prime Minister emphasised in his tribute how Dharmendra’s warmth, simplicity, and commanding on-screen persona left a lasting impression on Indian cinema and on generations of moviegoers.
At first, the news of Dharmendra’s passing was not immediately confirmed by a formal statement from his family. But events outside his home, such as the arrival of an ambulance and the obvious tightening of security at the Vile Parle crematorium, alluded to the terrible event. His family, close friends, and coworkers from the film fraternity gathered for the last rites after his mortal remains were transported by ambulance to the cremation site.
Often referred to as the “He-Man” of Bollywood, Dharmendra starred in numerous iconic films over a number of decades, including Sholay, Phool Aur Patthar, Chupke Chupke, and Seeta Aur Geeta. It will be very challenging to fill the void left by his passing in Indian cinema. Dharmendra will always be a representation of charm, resilience, and enduring fame for both fans and other artists.
