Kriti sanon is an renowed Indian actress and well-known for her variety of Hindi films. Her mother name is Geeta Sanon, a physics professor and her father Rahul Sanon is a chartered accountant. She came to a Punjabi Hindu family. Her younger sister, Nupur Sanon, is also an actress.
She completed her schooling at Delhi public school, R.K puram and later obtained Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida.
She short worked as a model before becoming an actress. She started her acting journey in 2014 with leading roles in the action films 1: Nenokkadine and Heropanti, with the latter winning her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She went to reach popularity with romantic comedies like Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017) and Luka Chuppi (2019), and appeared in major commercial hits such as Dilwale (2015) and Housefull 4 (2019).
Her critically celebrated performance as a surrogate mother in Mimi (2021) achieved her both the National Film Award and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. While she faced a defficult time with several failing films, including the high-profile Adipurush (2023), she received praise for Bhediya (2022) and bounced back with box-office successes like Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and Crew in 2024.
