Delhi Court: Al Falah Founder in Red Fort ED Case

Must read

A Delhi court has remanded Al Falah University founder Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui to 13 days’ custody with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering investigation linked to the recent terror attack near the Red Fort.

The order was passed in the early hours of Wednesday by Additional Sessions Judge Sheetal Chaudhary Pradhan at the Saket Court complex after a late-night hearing that began on Tuesday. The ED produced Siddiqui before the court and sought his custodial interrogation under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

In her order, Judge Pradhan observed that the ED had complied with the mandatory PMLA procedures and, considering the gravity of the alleged offences, held that a 13-day ED custody was necessary to enable further investigation.

Siddiqui, the founder and managing trustee of Al Falah University in Faridabad, came under scrutiny following a car blast near the Red Fort area on November 10, 2025, which claimed around a dozen lives and injured several others. The attack, suspected to be part of a larger terror conspiracy, has triggered a multi-agency probe into possible terror financing and support networks.

Al Falah University has also come under the scanner after three doctors associated with the institution were identified as suspects in the Red Fort blast case. Investigators are examining whether institutional or related financial channels were used to fund or facilitate the terror module behind the attack.

With Siddiqui now in ED custody, the agency is expected to focus on financial trails, suspicious transactions, and potential links to other operatives, as the Red Fort terror probe expands into a wider money laundering and terror financing investigation.
