Red Fort Blast: Doctors Linked to Terror Module

Must read

New Delhi, India – 11 November 2025:
A deadly car explosion near Delhi’s historic Red Fort has taken a chilling turn after investigators uncovered links to a so-called “white-collar” terror module involving medical professionals. The blast, which occurred around 6:52 p.m. on Monday, killed nine people and injured at least 20 others, triggering a massive security response across the capital. Forensic teams confirmed the use of ammonium-nitrate-based explosives, and early reports suggest the attacker detonated the bomb after his network’s cover was blown. The Delhi Police and National Investigation Agency (NIA) cordoned off the area, closed nearby roads, and launched an extensive manhunt for the remaining suspects.

What has alarmed security agencies most is the profile of the accused. Within 48 hours, several arrests were made, including that of medical doctors identified as Dr. Umar Mohammad, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, and Dr. Adil Rather, all allegedly linked to the Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). According to investigators, the group used professional identities to conceal terror operations, control logistics, and transport explosives from Faridabad to Delhi. The car used in the attack had reportedly changed ownership several times across states, pointing to a deliberate attempt to evade detection. Authorities believe this module coordinated across Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi, forming part of a larger interstate terror network.
The Prime Minister’s Office has termed the incident a “systemic security threat”, promising strict action against all involved. Experts warn that this rise of radicalised educated professionals marks a dangerous shift in recruitment tactics, demanding new counter-terror strategies. Citizens have been urged to remain vigilant, report suspicious activity, and cooperate with law-enforcement alerts as the investigation continues.
