Political strategist-turned-activist Prashant Kishor has made a striking prediction about his party Jan Suraaj’s performance in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Speaking at an NDTV event on Bihar’s political scenario, Kishor said his party could secure “less than 10 or more than 100 seats,” depending on whether voters take a “leap of faith” in a new political alternative. Kishor, who launched Jan Suraaj last year after completing a 3,000-km-long padayatra across Bihar, emphasized that his movement has generated strong grassroots awareness. However, he admitted that converting this awareness into actual votes would be the real test. “People have seen Jan Suraaj as an alternative, but voting requires faith. People need that leap because of a prolonged phase of hopelessness,” he remarked, referring to the growing disillusionment with traditional political parties.
Known for his expertise in crafting successful election campaigns for major political forces such as the BJP (2014), Trinamool Congress (TMC), DMK, and Congress, Kishor underlined that his current focus is on building genuine political contenders rather than consulting for established leaders. His remarks come amid increasing curiosity over whether Jan Suraaj’s reformist campaign can break the dominance of established parties like the RJD, JDU, and BJP in Bihar’s political landscape. Kishor’s statement, a mix of optimism and caution, highlights both his confidence in the movement’s growing appeal and his awareness of the tough electoral battle ahead.
