The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has unveiled its manifesto for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, making a strong pitch for development and employment generation in the state. The manifesto, titled ‘Sankalp Patra’, was released in Patna on Friday by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, BJP president JP Nadda, and alliance leaders Jitan Ram Manjhi, Chirag Paswan, and Upendra Kushwaha.
Massive Employment Drive: One Crore Jobs Promise
At the core of the NDA’s manifesto is the promise to create one crore government and private sector jobs. The coalition aims to tackle unemployment — one of Bihar’s biggest challenges — through a mix of public sector hiring, industrial growth, and skill development.
According to the alliance leaders, this employment plan will be implemented through both state and central government initiatives, alongside private investment opportunities that will attract industries to Bihar. The jobs will span across education, healthcare, infrastructure, and agriculture sectors, ensuring equal opportunities for both urban and rural youth.
Boosting Industrial Growth and MSMEs
Another major highlight of the manifesto is the NDA’s focus on industrial development. The government plans to establish new industrial zones and MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) clusters to encourage entrepreneurship and local manufacturing.
These steps are expected to create job opportunities at the grassroots level while boosting Bihar’s economy. Nitish Kumar emphasized that industries will not only help generate employment but also prevent migration by giving youth work within the state.
Infrastructure Expansion Across Bihar
The NDA’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ places a strong emphasis on developing Bihar’s infrastructure, which includes roads, railways, bridges, and healthcare facilities. The manifesto pledges large-scale investment in rural connectivity, ensuring that villages are linked to towns and markets for better economic integration.
Plans for new railway projects, modernization of bus stations, and expansion of state highways were also mentioned. Additionally, healthcare infrastructure will receive special attention, with proposals to build more primary health centres and upgrade existing hospitals.
Agriculture and Farmer Support
For Bihar’s large agricultural community, the NDA has promised a renewed focus on modern farming techniques, irrigation development, and market access for farmers. The manifesto highlights measures to support farmers through subsidies, digital platforms for crop marketing, and better access to credit.
Nitish Kumar mentioned that the government will work to ensure that farmers receive fair prices for their produce and that schemes will be introduced to reduce the cost of cultivation.
Women Empowerment and Education Initiatives
The NDA’s manifesto also emphasizes women’s empowerment and education reforms. Programs will be strengthened to support female entrepreneurship, self-help groups, and technical education for girls. The alliance promises to expand scholarships, skill training centres, and startup funds to help women become financially independent.
Education reforms will aim to upgrade school infrastructure, introduce digital classrooms, and train teachers to improve learning outcomes.
Vision for a Developed Bihar
In the concluding section of the Sankalp Patra, the NDA declared its vision to transform Bihar into a model state of development, balancing economic growth with social welfare. The manifesto portrays a roadmap that integrates job creation, industry, education, and infrastructure under one comprehensive development strategy.
BJP president JP Nadda said that the manifesto reflects the alliance’s commitment to “employment, empowerment, and progress.” Chief Minister Nitish Kumar added that the NDA’s policies are designed to continue the development journey Bihar has witnessed in recent years.
The NDA leaders appealed to the public to support their vision for a “self-reliant Bihar”, where every citizen benefits from economic progress and modern facilities.
With its focus on jobs, industries, farmers, and women, the ‘Sankalp Patra’ seeks to combine both short-term relief and long-term transformation, positioning the NDA as a coalition aiming for inclusive growth and stability in Bihar.
