Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office:
Finally arriving on big screens, Rishab Shetty’s eagerly anticipated Kantara: Chapter 1 caused a stir at the box office on its first day of release.The movie, which was released on Dussehra, became one of the biggest openers of 2025 with a staggering ₹60 crore worldwide. Although it made more money than Chhaava, it is only slightly less than Rajinikanth’s Coolie (₹65 crore) and They Call Him OG (₹63 crore). The movie made an estimated ₹19–21 crore in the Hindi market alone, making it the second highest Hindi opening for a Kannada film after KGF Chapter 2. The film has had a strong start at the box office thanks to its impressive visuals, compelling narrative, and outstanding performances.
Under the Hombale Films banner, Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda produce Kantara: Chapter 1, which is directed and starring Rishab Shetty. Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram play important parts in the movie as well. Technically, the film is excellent, with B Ajaneesh Loknath’s music, Suresh’s editing, and Arvind S. Kashyap’s cinematography. Following the enormous success of Kantara (2022), which made over ₹400 crore and won several National Awards, including Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, this prequel investigates the legend’s beginnings and provides answers to some of the unanswered questions in the first film. The film has set high expectations for its run in the upcoming weeks after its record-breaking debut.
